The Seigakuin University Political Science and Economics Department held its annual special lecture series inviting extramural guests. This year’s first lecture was held on May 16th. Mr. Seiichi Ito, the chief of the Food Safety Section in the Saitama Health and Medical Service Department, introduced the measures taken for securing food safety and reliability in Saitama Prefecture.

The second lecturer was Mr. Etsuo Yokouchi, the former president- director of Suzuki Motorcycles, who developed a motorcycle which won the World Grand Prix Race. He came to Seigakuin University on June 20th, giving a message to students entitled, “Let’s Change the Current of the Times- The Road to Winning the World Grand Prix.”
Finally, the third lecturer, Mr. Kiyoshi Ueda, the Governor of Saitama Prefecture, held a lecture on Finally, the third lecturer, Mr. Kiyoshi Ueda, the Governor of Saitama Prefecture, held a lecture on June 21st. The lecture title was, “To the Young People Who Will Become the Leaders of Tomorrow- Administrative Reform by Applying the Heat”. He explained his three political philosophies: “To spread the idea of security and safety throughout all administrative fields”, “To make the Saitama Prefectural Office an excellent business entity”, and “To make the Saitama Prefectural Office the best service industry in the country”. Students learned of his passion to build up Saitama as the best prefecture in Japan.
