Professor Hisao Kohyama, a renowned architect, received the 2005 Japan Art Academy Award for gSeigakuin Chapel and Lecture Hall,h which he designed. The Japan Art Academy is a special organization within the Agency for Cultural Affairs, and The The Japan Art Academy Award is given for excellent works of fine art and artists that have made contributions to the arts. This year 10 artists were awarded.

The award ceremony will be held in June at The Japan Art Academy Hall.

Seigakuin Schools gave a party to celebrate his award on June 21 at Seigakuin University Chapel. Seigakuin conferred an honorary doctorfs degree on Prof. Kohyama and set a monument in Seigakuin Universityfs yard to commemorate his achievement.
