Christian Emphasis Week 2007

Seigakuin Universityfs Christian Emphasis Week was held from May 23rd to 30th. The aim of the Christian Emphasis Week each year is to introduce the rich world of Christianity and Christian culture to students.

The theme for this year was gNew Person, New Japan.h Professor Akudo, the president of Seigakuin University, held a lecture for sophomore students on May 23rd, the title of which was, gThe Modern Significance of Sixty Years of Japanese Constitutional Law?The Spread of the Gospel and the Issue of the Establishment of a New Nation and its Social System.h

A special lecture and a cello concert for freshman students were held on May 30th at the Seigakuin University Chapel. The world-famous cellist, Mr. Ken Karatsu, played Bach and other well-known composersf works, and the students enjoyed the beautiful compositions as rendered by Mr. Karatsu.

Students carefully considered the present state of Japanese society and reinforced their wishes for peace as a result of this Christian Emphasis Week.
