Seigakuin’s 100th Anniversary Covenant
In commemorating its 100th anniversary, Seigakuin
University and Schools have from 2003 to 2006 sought to establish
a sense of unity, recalling our educational mission and sharing
our vision for the ensuing century. When we look at the present
situation of Japan, the serious inner problems which long have been
concealed by the outward recovery of the post-war period have surfaced
and recently manifested themselves in the breakdown and corruption
of both individuals and families, leaving the country faced with
the burden of serious educational problems.
We believe that to confront these problems
head on and to hold out hope for Japan’s future is the call of all
mission schools. Consequently, Seigakuin University and Schools
will organize as a covenantal community, called in the name of our
God, to reach its educational goals and to accomplish its mission
for the coming 100 years. We will carry on this mission together
and strive to exhibit our Lord’s glory. We hereby solemnly bind
ourselves to this covenant.
